Girl Geeks Unite at Perforce
You missed out big-time if you weren’t able to get onto the attendee list for yesterday’s Girl Geek Dinner, sponsored by one of our local Alameda neighbors, Perforce.com. Perforce is a widely-used version-control software that’s a favorite tool of software developers in the Bay Area and beyond. And, if yesterday was any indication, these guys know how to throw a party.
True to the reputation of the Girl Geek Dinner series, the networking opps were amazing. We were also happily impressed by the number of startup geeks and entrepreneurs, especially the group hanging around the self-serve candy bar.
Also in attendance were geeky girls from Perforce’s corporate customer community, which includes heavy-hitters like Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard, Deutsche Bank, AMD, NASA, and more. We looked, but didn’t see anyone from Zombie Studios, though!
In Alameda, however, we know Perforce for their work rescuing a century-old colonial revival house and transforming it into the cutest coffee shop in town, the Little House Cafe.
Not only has Perforce been voted one of the Bay Area’s best places to work multiple times over the past few years, but they’re going to be hosting a mini ice-skating rink for the Alameda community. Grand opening is Friday, December 16th, 3pm-10pm. For anyone who isn’t up for the long haul to Tahoe, this might just be the cure for the season.
BTW–Perforce is hiring, if you know of any Senior Java Developers, Experienced Account Managers, or UX Architects, then check out their open jobs. They’ve even got some nice digs.
